Pep Guardiola wants more signatures with a ‘special mindset’ to follow Erling Holland through the gates of Manchester City … Fernandinho’s successor and the Academy stars who can imitate Phil Foden are on his wish list.

Manchester City are looking for more players who are ‘hungry’ to dominate English football as Sir Alex Ferguson has not seen since Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola’s side will take a big step today to win their fourth Premier League title in five years if they beat West Ham – making it the best run since United between 2007 and 2011.
City have already added striker Earling Holland to their list of world-class players for next season, but Guardiola is looking for more, if a financial fair play ban means City cannot pay players more.

League leaders City are looking for a replacement for Fernandinho (left) at the end of the season
At the top of the wish list is an expert left-back and a holding midfielder to replace the departing Fernandinho. “I know they’re working on it and always thinking about it,” Guardiola said. “I’m not saying this is happening, but they have a plan to see what happens. There are so many incredible players around the world who can fit in and play, no doubt.
“The world is so big, there are billions of teams and great talented players as long as they have the special mentality of wanting to win again and again.
‘Every day, never satisfied. The biggest is to find it. Everything is in the head. Every action comes from there. ‘
Guardiola does not imagine a big change in his squad but says clubs should always be ready to change players who want to leave, as Ferran Torres did in January.
Norwegian striker Erling Holland has agreed to move to City from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.
Guardiola have worked hard to rebuild City following the departures of Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva, and are on the verge of their 10th league championship with three wins each over Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
‘You can never sit back and think you have a young team that can stay together for five or six years. That should not happen, ‘he said.
‘Players want to play and be happy because conditions change with the seasons. If they have an idea they don’t play, so they have to give up and be replaced.
“The club should always look forward. If five players leave the club, you need to identify who the other five new players will be, or which players from the academy like Phil Foden will be part of it.
“These things need to be considered again and again.”
Holland’s goal-scoring record with Borussia Dortmund in Germany suggests he has a ruthless rhythm in line with Guardiola’s ambitions. City have scored 95 league goals this season without a center forward.
Guardiola is not worried about completing the century with two games left. “If we score 99 runs and win the league, that’s fine too,” he said.
